Biography
Jim is a committed physician and dentist advocate. He is active in many regional and national organizations related to physicians, dentists and the healthcare industry.
Jim represents physicians and physician groups of all sizes, as well as many other healthcare providers. Jim regularly counsels his physician clients on a wide array of physician-related healthcare projects. These projects include physician networks, payor negotiation, and contracting strategies, accountable care organizations, joint ventures, as well as various relationships involving physicians, hospitals, and privately funded investor groups. The legal issues involve a broad range of federal and state laws such as the Anti-Kickback Law, the Stark Law, antitrust law, the myriad of billing rules and regulations, and general business planning and representation.
Jim also represents many dentists and dental practices in structuring practice ownership models, associate buy-ins, partner buy-outs, employment agreements and compensation planning, and practice sales and acquisitions.

Jim earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from The University of Akron College of Business Administration. He moved on to study law at Ohio Northern University’s Pettit College of Law and received his Juris Doctor, with Distinction, in 1994.
Jim is active in many regional and national organizations related to the healthcare industry. Jim is the co-chairman of a national conference of healthcare attorneys focused on physician legal issues held annually in Washington D.C.
